Turkish Meatballs ( Kofte )

This is what we I ate growing up in Turkey. Kofte also known as kids favorite food…My turkish readers can relate to this. I still make it today and can’t get enough of it. It’s delicious and nutritious pack with full protein. As I changed my diet I did some adjustments to keep it wheat free. I guess it can go under the Paleo umbrella. You have to make sure that you get Grass fed, grass finished ground beef. 80% – 20% fat ratio.

I am going to share my mother’s recipe with you, hope you enjoy it as much as we do at home.

You need:

  • Pound of grass-fed / grass-finished ground beef 80-20 % ratio.
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup of almond meal ( you can also use regular bread crumbs if you choose to)

Directions:

Put the ground beef in a mixing bowl, put everything in, grade the onion and mix it all using your hands:), make little patties and grill it or use a none stick pan with a little coconut oil, when it’s golden turn it around, cooks very fast so don’t burn it…:)

You can always adjust the salt and pepper as you wish.

Super easy, super fast, super yummy…ENJOY.
